These are informal classes in a comfortable, supportive environment where you can explore, create and improve your own unique abilities and style in painting, drawing and a combination of the two. Guidance is given, but you are encouraged to draw, paint and create at your own pace and experience level. Formal aspects of painting and drawing, such as colour, perspective and tonal value will be discussed, but a focus on intuitive creation and freedom of expression is encouraged. You will guide your own progress and make choices about your subject matter and material, while having guidance in improving your techniques and developing your own unique style.

Basic materials are provided to experiment and explore with before buying your own specialized materials. Proposed materials to bring with:

• Any specific paper, wood, canvas or material that you would like to use
• Any specific drawing materials that you would like to use
• Any specific paints and colours that you would like to use
• Reference material if you would like to draw from your own pictures
• Collage materials if you’d like to cut and paste
