painting // sculpture // drawing // installation // décor I have a strong love for nature and use it as inspiration for a wide amount of different artwork. Landscapes featured in my work usually represents my own environmental setting or a landscape that I have a strong feeling towards. Some landscapes and trees are also drawn from memory or created anew. A lot of my work is done in a very intuitive manner, without a clear idea of what I want the outcome to be, where I just keep adding and changing the artwork until I am satisfied with the way that it looks. I also focus on using waste materials, or things that we usually throw away, in creating new work - whether it be aesthetic, conceptual or practical. Rather than using traditional mediums such as clay, bronze and plaster, I try to use different materials and found objects, and to work in assemblage or additive techniques to create sculptural pieces. Some of the mediums that I use are: Charcaol, oil paint, watercolour paint, pencil/graphite, acrylic paint, digital or photographic illustration, photography, ink, coffee, and collage. Some other materials or mediums also include wire, dry grass, rocks, wood, masking tape and scraperboard. I often work in mixed media - combining different mediums and techniques. |
